Sonic

Sonic

Overview

The Sonic is Bräuniger's new audio only mini vario. It offers optimized climb- and sink-acoustics.

The Sonic is an ideal back-up instrument for cross country and competition pilots. It is also perfect for dune soaring where altitude information is not necessary. Paraglider tandem pilots often have problems mounting their "bigger" varios, with the compact and lightweight Sonic this problem is solved. Pilots who prefer minimal technology while flying will find the Sonic the perfect instrument for them. Despite its small dimensions (89 mm x 37 mm x 19 mm, 40 grams) the Sonic is a full quality BRŸUNIGER instrument. It uses the same high-quality pressure senders and electronic parts as the IQ Series instruments. The new BRŸUNIGER mini-vario is mounted by Velcro on the pilot's helmet or harness.

The audio volume and the sink tone threshold can be st by the user. The mini-vario is powered by a readily available Lithium battery which lasts for about 200 flight hours. The Sonic also features ASI (Acoustic Scale Indication) where the timbre of the climb sound changes at a climb rate of 260 ft/min which helps the pilot to estimate climb rates acoustically.
